Daniel Mendez Perez of Bensenville, Illinois, died on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the age of 18.
Perez was born on April 24, 2007, to his father, Jorge Perez, and his mother, Nely Mendez Perez, in Melrose Park, Illinois.
His father, Jorge, attended Fenton High School and is currently serving as a football coach.
Daniel was a beloved member of the Eclipse family and was a player for the club.
The entire Eclipse football family is mourning the death of Daniel. He was a truly good person with a laugh that could change the energy of a room.
As a son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend, he showed everyone that the best way to live is to “love hard.”
Several football lovers and friends have offered their heartfelt condolences through their social media handles to Daniel’s family to stay strong in this difficult time.
A visitation will be held at Geils Funeral Home, 180 South York Road, Bensenville, Illinois 60106, on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 3-8 PM.
Interment will be private. Family requested to call Geils Funeral Home at 630-766-3232 for any queries.
