Submitting Obituaries
How do I submit an obituary to Memorial Chronicle?

Submitting an obituary is simple. Visit our Contact page and fill out the obituary submission form. You will need to provide the full name of the deceased, dates of birth and passing, a brief life story, and optionally, service details.

You can also email your submission directly to contact@memorialchronicle.com with all the relevant information and a photograph if you have one.

Is it free to publish an obituary?

Yes, completely free. Memorial Chronicle publishes all obituaries at no cost as a community service. There are no hidden charges, no premium tiers, and no subscription fees. Every family deserves to have their loved one remembered, regardless of their financial situation.

How long does it take to publish after I submit?

We review and publish all obituaries within 24 hours of receiving a complete submission. In most cases, obituaries are published much sooner. Once published, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the tribute page.

Can I include a photograph with the obituary?

Yes, we strongly encourage families to include a photograph. A photo makes the tribute page much more personal and meaningful. You can email a photo to contact@memorialchronicle.com along with your submission.

We accept JPG, PNG, and WEBP formats. For best results, please use a clear, high-resolution photo.

Can I edit or update the obituary after it has been published?

Yes. If you need to correct any information or add details after publishing, simply contact us by email at contact@memorialchronicle.com or call us at (972) 618-7656 and we will update the obituary promptly.

Who can submit an obituary?

Anyone can submit an obituary β€” family members, close friends, funeral homes, or community organisations. You do not need to be a registered user or have an account with us.

We review every submission to ensure it is respectful and appropriate before publishing.

Can I include service or funeral details?

Yes. You can include the date, time, location, and any other details about the funeral or memorial service in your submission. These will appear on the “Obituary & Service” tab of the tribute page, making it easy for friends and family to find service information.

Condolences & Memories
How do I leave a condolence or share a memory?

Visit the obituary page of the person you wish to honour and click the “Share a Memory” button. You will find a message box on the Tribute Wall tab where you can write your condolence or memory. Fill in your name, email, and message, then click “Post Your Memory.”

No account or registration is required to leave a condolence.

Do I need to register to leave a condolence?

No. You do not need to create an account or register to leave a condolence or share a memory. Simply visit the tribute page and use the memory form. Only your name and email are required.

Will my condolence be visible immediately?

All condolences and memories are reviewed before appearing on the Tribute Wall to ensure they are respectful and appropriate. This review is usually completed within a few hours. We appreciate your patience.

Can I send flowers to the family?

Yes. Each obituary page includes a “Send Flowers” button which links to a florist partner where you can arrange a floral tribute or gift to be delivered to the family. This is a wonderful way to express your sympathy in a tangible way.

How do I share an obituary with friends and family?

Every tribute page includes a Share button which allows you to share the obituary via Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, or email. You can also simply copy the page URL from your browser and send it directly to anyone you wish to inform.

Account & Privacy
Do I need an account to use Memorial Chronicle?

No account is required to browse obituaries, leave condolences, or share memories. An account is only needed if you wish to manage obituary submissions directly through the website as a funeral home or regular contributor.

How is my personal information handled?

We take privacy very seriously. Any personal information you provide β€” such as your name and email when leaving a condolence β€” is used solely for the purpose of processing your submission. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.

Can I request the removal of an obituary?

Yes. If you are a close family member and wish to have an obituary removed or amended, please contact us at contact@memorialchronicle.com. We will verify your relationship and process your request as quickly as possible.

How long will the obituary remain online?

Obituaries published on Memorial Chronicle remain online permanently. We believe that memories should last forever, and tribute pages should always be accessible to family members and friends, regardless of how much time has passed.

Services & Fees
Are there any charges or hidden fees?

Absolutely none. Memorial Chronicle is completely free for families. We do not charge for publishing obituaries, leaving condolences, uploading photos, or accessing any part of our website. Our service is funded through responsible advertising displayed on our site.

Do you work with funeral homes?

Yes. We welcome partnerships with funeral homes and cremation services. If you are a funeral home and would like to submit obituaries on behalf of the families you serve, please contact us at contact@memorialchronicle.com to discuss how we can work together.

What areas do you cover?

Memorial Chronicle accepts obituaries from across the United States and internationally. Whether your loved one passed in Texas, New York, California, or anywhere else in the world, we are here to help you share their story.

Technical Help
I cannot find the obituary I am looking for. What should I do?

Use the search bar on our Obituaries page to search by full name or year. If you still cannot find the obituary, it may not have been submitted to us yet. You can also contact us directly and we will help you locate it or guide the family through the submission process.

The page is not loading correctly. What can I do?

Please try the following steps:

  • Refresh the page by pressing Ctrl+R (or Cmd+R on Mac)
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Try a different browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari
  • Check your internet connection

If the problem persists, please contact us at contact@memorialchronicle.com and describe the issue.

How do I report an inappropriate condolence or content?

If you see a condolence or any content that you believe is inappropriate or disrespectful, please email us at contact@memorialchronicle.com with the link to the tribute page and a description of the issue. We take these reports seriously and will remove inappropriate content promptly.

Is Memorial Chronicle mobile-friendly?

Yes. Memorial Chronicle is fully responsive and works on all devices including smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers. You can browse obituaries, leave condolences, and submit tributes from any device with a modern web browser.
