Braxton Acey, a young man from Tunica County, tragically passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, following a traffic collision.
Acey, 33, was born on July 12, 1992, in Tunica, Mississippi. He later moved to Oxford, Mississippi, with his family.
He was a former high school baseball player who represented Tunica Academy in Tunica.
A member of the class of 2022, Acey played as both an infielder and a pitcher, wearing jersey number 14 for the varsity baseball team.
Standing at 5 feet 9 inches and weighing around 150 pounds, he brought versatility and balance to the field.
Acey’s involvement with Tunica Academy baseball dates back several years, as he was added to the team roster in 2017.
During his high school career, Acey participated in competitive matchups and consistently represented his school.
As a student athlete, he balanced academics with athletics, completing his high school journey in 2022.
Apart from athleticism and academics, he enjoyed his free time hunting and gathering with his family.
Following his tragic death, several people have came to towards for the support and condolences to his family.
He will always be remembered for his unforgettable contributions as an athlete of Tunica Academy.
